2010 GCSECA Training Programs

Following is a list of the education programs sponsored by GCSECA for their member organizations’ directors and employees. To learn more about the courses, contact GCSECA Director of Communications and Member Services, Jim Donahue. To register, Click Here and follow the instructions. Many of these events have a maximum numbers of participants allowed. Register early. Registrations are taken in order of receipt. Waiting lists are often used.

Annual Meter School

Dates: April 6-8
Description: This will be a traditional meter school very similar to those offered by GCSECA in the past. With the changes that AMR brings, this school is “must” attend for anyone involved in meters. The class on the 8th will be more experienced meter technicians.

National Electrical Safety Code Review

Dates: May 4-6
Description: If you build, maintain or design electric delivery systems, you need to know what the NESC says. This two-and-a-half day review will cover the highlights of the Code. Limited to first 30 signing up.

Generational Diversity Workshop

Dates: May 18
Description: A one-day opportunity to learn about the differences between Baby-boomers, Generation X, Generation Y and how to work more effectively with the different groups. Limited to first 30 signing up.

NRECA Directors’ Course (Board Leadership)

972.1 – Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Demand Response in Today’s Cooperative
Dates: July 29
Description: The course is a day-long and worth one credit towards the Board Leadership certificate. Limited to 35 participants.

Annual Line School

Dates: October 12-14
Description: A three-day hands-on training session with some classroom instruction will provide a tremendous learning environment for utility line workers. A skills competition will be held as part of the school.
