Primary Function and Services

GCSECA ServicesThe Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (GCSECA) was established in 1950 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan group to give Arizona electric cooperatives a unified voice in state and national regulatory and legislative matters.

Headquartered in Phoenix, GCSECA represents seven electric distribution cooperatives; six in Arizona and one in California. Other members include generation, transmission and cooperative services cooperatives. In addition, GCSECA represents 19 associate members.

Our Board of Directors consists of two representatives from each of the seven member distribution cooperatives, a representative from each of the three specialized cooperatives, plus one representative elected by the associate members.

Through our trade organization, member systems can participate in various education and training programs for their directors and employees.

Our bi-monthly newsletter, Currents, provides customers, elected officials and government agencies with news of issues important to electric cooperatives and their members.

Resource-pooling and cost-sharing by our members has helped make GCSECA a strong, efficient statewide organization representing members' interests on state and national issues.
