In May 1990, Tom Jones became chief executive officer of GCSECA. Tom has Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Arizona. He was honored as the Outstanding Graduate Student in the University of Arizona College of Agriculture in 1985. He is a graduate of the Robert A. Taft Institute of Government and the Center for Rural Leadership program (Project CENTRL) sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation. He holds the designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives. Tom's civic activities include serving as Councilman and Mayor of the Town of Marana, Arizona from 1982-89 and on several state boards and commissions including the Arizona State Board of Vocational Education from 1994-97. He is past president of the University of Arizona College of Agriculture Alumni Council. In 1998, Jones received the Public Service Award from the University of Arizona. Tom is a past president of the Rural Electric Statewide Managers' Association and serves on the board of directors of Touchstone Energy® and Ruralite Services, Inc.
