The ENERGY STAR® program is one of the best. ENERGY STAR offers businesses and consumers energy efficient solutions – helping to save money while protecting the environment for future generations.
For the home, ENERGY STAR:
- Labels energy-efficient products. Check out their Store Locator or just look for the ENERGY STAR label on products like clothes washers, TVs/VCRs, heating and cooling equipment, and more to save money on energy bills and help the environment at the same time!

Another web site to check out built with kids in mind is the Energy Hog site. Loaded with energy saving tips and games, this site is great place for students to learn about saving energy.
Touchstone Energy Home Energy Saver

The Home Energy Saver is designed to help consumers identify the best ways to save energy in their homes, and find the resources to make the savings happen. The Home Energy Saver quickly computes a home's energy use on-line based on methods developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
